As you capture, he was so holistic in his approach to life pursuits, society, the human and more-than-human, and theology. I love that: “practice resurrection.” That’s holistic Good News—tending and attending.
We will surely miss Wendell Berry. We patterned our regenerative farm around many of his tenets, first thinking about our food, the nutrition in it, the soil that grew it, the hands that cared for the land. Now we support other, younger farmers. Some of them poets, as well.
What a legacy of writings and putting ideas into action he created, and I love that you're carrying it on! That's how real change begins and continues. Thank you!!
I'm back in the suburbs, but continue to teach. This decade, I'm dedicated to my surrounding ecology. I promote conservation of stormwater, integrating native plants into our yard, reducing lawn space, and inviting in the wildlife. Oh, the birds! The bees! The wasps! The caterpillars! The mammals, reptiles, spiders, insects, amphibians, and snakes. Everything in nature has its place. I choose to work with it as nature intended, and learn by observation.
